Infection Control

The question often arises about infection control. How do we sterilize our instruments? How do we ensure cleanliness of the chair and unit?

At VIVA Dental we ensure the sterility and cleanliness of all our instruments using a Midmark autoclave. All instruments are scrubbed and placed in an ultrasonic water bath. After 20 minutes in the bath they are placed in the Midmark autoclave for an additional 20 minutes of sterilization. The chair, unit, light, and cavitron are wiped clean using advanced dental wipes which kill all bacteria after each patient. At VIVA Dental we up hold all of our standards of infection control as outlined by the College of Dental Hygienist of Ontario to ensure patient safety.
